Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan intend to optimize fees and payments for international freight transportation

On 10 January 2024, a meeting of the expert working group of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan on fees and payments related to international road transport was held.

During the video conference, the parties discussed issues of optimizing fees for carriers from both countries, as well as accelerating the process of signing an intergovernmental agreement to simplify procedures for obtaining visas for participants in international cargo transportation through the territories of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

Turkmen side expressed interest in studying the experience of Uzbekistan in the transition to the E-permit system, which stipulates the electronic exchange of permits in real-time.

The parties also formulated objectives for future cooperation in these areas.
