Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Strengthen Cooperation in Railway Transportation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — As part of the 82nd meeting of the Council for Railway Transport of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states, a bilateral meeting was held between the heads of the railway administrations of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
The negotiations were chaired by Zufar Narzullaev, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Uzbekistan Railways", and Azamat Sakiev, Director General of the State Enterprise "Kyrgyz Railways".
The parties discussed in detail current and strategically important areas of cooperation, placing particular emphasis on measures to deepen partnership ties and create favorable conditions for increasing the volume of freight and passenger transportation between the two countries. Special attention was also given to enhancing the efficiency of logistics routes and cooperation within the framework of regional transport corridors.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a protocol documenting the agreements reached and outlining further steps to expand bilateral cooperation in the field of railway transport.
