Uzbekistan and India intend to establish cooperation in the defense industry

An Uzbek-Indian seminar on cooperation in the defense industry was held in Tashkent. Enterprises of the defense-industrial complex of the two countries intend to establish bilateral cooperation and discussed joint projects.

An Uzbek-Indian seminar was held in Tashkent, where representatives of the defense-industrial complex of the two countries discussed joint projects and bilateral cooperation, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan reported .

Participants from India included representatives from Zen Technologies, TATA Advanced Systems, Bharat Dynamics, Apollo Micro Systems, L&T Defense, Bharat Forge and Karman Drones Private.

“The event participants discussed promising areas for strengthening relationships and new joint projects,” says a message on the Ministry of Defense website.

In February, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, by decree, created on the basis of the State Committee for Defense Industry the Defense Industry Agency under the Ministry of Defense and the state unitary enterprise Uztekhtrade, which imports military and dual-use products.

Over the past five years, enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Uzbekistan have mastered the production of local light armored vehicles, drones, night vision devices and various combat modules.
