Tashkent State Medical University was established

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) - The resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to radically improve the system of training personnel in the field of healthcare” was adopted.
According to the document, Tashkent State Medical University will be founded on the basis of the Tashkent Medical Academy, Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute and Tashkent State Dental Institute. The Institute of Medical Scientific and Innovative Research will be created on the basis of the Central Scientific Research Laboratory of the Tashkent Medical Academy.
The branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy in Urgench will be transformed into the Urgench State Medical Institute. The clinics of the Tashkent Medical Academy, the clinic of the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute and the clinic of the Tashkent State Dental Institute will receive a new name - the clinics of the Tashkent State Medical University.
The branches of the Tashkent Medical Academy in Terminza and Chirchik will be renamed into the branches of the Tashkent State Medical University in Termiz and Chirchik. The academic lyceums of the Tashkent Medical Academy, Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute and Tashkent State Dental Institute will be transformed into the 1st, 2nd and 3rd academic lyceums of the Tashkent State Medical University.
One of the main tasks of the new university will be the adaptation of educational programs in accordance with international standards of medical education, as well as the introduction of educational programs aimed at developing competencies.
The University will become a leading educational institution in the field of training specialists with higher medical education, scientific personnel, as well as their retraining and advanced training. From the 2025/2026 academic year, the university will form separate groups for studying in foreign languages in the Master's program.
Specialized medical centers and institutions in Tashkent will be designated as the main clinical bases for university students. The university will begin accepting students in the 2025/2026 academic year. Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, all students studying at the Tashkent Medical Academy, Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute and Tashkent State Dental Institute will continue their education at the Tashkent State Medical University, and graduates will be awarded diplomas from this university according to the established procedure.
A development fund for the Tashkent State Medical University will be created within the university’s structure, which will be replenished through sponsorship and charitable donations.
