A project office “Center for Healthcare Projects” will be established in Uzbekistan

The Presidential Resolution “On additional measures to deepen reforms in the healthcare sector” (GD No. 38 of 01/22/2024) was adopted.
According to the Resolution, the Project Office “Center for Healthcare Projects” will be formed within the structure of the Ministry of Health.
The Project Office is responsible for the implementation of new mechanisms in the following priority areas:
- full implementation of the state health insurance system and a package of free medical services and medicines guaranteed by the state;
- improving the system of control over the quality and safety of medical services;
- increasing the efficiency and transparency of public procurement, reforming the pharmaceutical sector;
- updating sanitary standards and regulations based on modern requirements.
In 2024:
- a complete revision will be carried out and brought into compliance with international standards of the existing 40 sanitary rules, norms and hygienic standards;
- modern management methods, high standards of safety and quality of medical care will be introduced into the activities of the republican specialized scientific and practical medical centers of surgery, cardiology, endocrinology, dermatovenerology and cosmetology, the National Children's Medical Center and the National Medical Center, and their international accreditation will also be carried out.
