The installed capacity of renewable energy sources in China increased in the first 8 months of 2022

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The installed capacity of renewable energy sources in China has grown dramatically in the first eight months of this year amid the country's desire for green development. This is reported by Xinhua News Agency.

In January-August of this year, the installed capacity of wind farms increased by 16.6 percent. on an annual basis, it amounted to about 340 million kW, and the same indicator for photovoltaic power plants amounted to 350 million kW, an increase of 27.2 percent, according to data from the State Administration for Energy Affairs of the People's Republic of China.

According to the data, by the end of August, the total installed capacity of the country's power plants reached approximately 2.47 billion kW, an increase of 8 percent. compared to last year.

Recall that the Chinese authorities previously announced their desire to achieve a peak in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060.
