Denis Manturov discusses issues of trade and economic cooperation with the leadership of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov visited Uzbekistan on a working visit.

During the visit, Denis Manturov held several meetings with the leadership of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojaev.

Issues of trade and economic cooperation and interaction in the field of railway transport, energy and infrastructure were discussed.

The parties also discussed priority projects, including the modernization of the gas transportation system, the creation of a metallurgical cluster based on the Tebinbulak field, a gas chemical complex in the Bukhara region, a copper processing plant at the facilities of the Almalyk GMK and the construction of a nuclear power plant.

In addition, during the meetings, the project of creating a development fund to support investment projects using Russian industrial products and other aspects of bilateral cooperation were discussed.

Denis Manturov expressed his intention to continue the dialogue on the current agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation at the exhibition “Innoprom. Central Asia”, scheduled for 22–24 April in Tashkent. He emphasized that companies from the CIS countries have already booked over 90% of the exhibition space two months before the start of the event.

During the visit, agreements were signed, including on the development of cooperation between JSC Russian Railways and Uzbekistan Temir Yollari.
