Subsidies for water conservation will be paid in an accelerated manner

Water-saving solutions will be required to create new gardens, vineyards and greenhouses.

On January 5, Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved new measures to improve the management of water resources and increase the efficiency of their use. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice.

The resolution enshrines the steps in the field of water use outlined at the meeting with the president last week. Water delivery services in the form of state institutions are being formed on the basis of the regional irrigation departments of the Ministry of Water Resources and special services.

40% of the water use tax levies received by the state budget will be used to finance their work. At the same time, a separate payment for water delivery services is canceled.

To suppliers of agricultural products through the platform suvkredit.uz Preferential loans will be allocated for the introduction of water-saving irrigation technologies. The funds will be provided for 5 years at 14% per annum.

The state will reimburse part of the interest payments on loans taken for this purpose by farmers from Karakalpakstan and Khorezm. The amount in excess of 10% per annum will be covered.

In addition, subsidies for the use of water-saving solutions will be paid on an accelerated basis. Farmers will be able to receive the full amount of compensation in the year when they have implemented the appropriate equipment.

The conditions for issuing an opinion by the Ministry of Agriculture for the organization of new orchards, vineyards, perennial tree plantings, as well as light greenhouses on irrigated lands will change. Now the use of water-saving technologies will become mandatory for this.
